Reverse Text String Order In Excel

Reverse any text the way you want, reverse all characters or the text, or reverse the words in the text, or reverse the words separated by comma, or reverse words separated by carriage return, or reverse the words based on a separator you specify. Dose for Excel‘s Reverse Text Order utility can save you time and effort reversing text on huge worksheets.

Reverse all characters of text

  1. For example, reverse all characters of a text of “Excel” into “lecxE”.
  2. Select range of cells that you want to reverse their text characters, and then check Nothing option.
  3. Then click Apply. You will see the result as shown in the below screenshot.

Reverse text separated by space

  1. For example, reverse text separated by space such like “MS Excel” into “Excel MS”.
  2. Select range of cells that you want to reverse their text, and then check Space option.
  3. Then click Apply. You will see the result as shown in the below screenshot.

Reverse text separated by comma

  1. For example, reverse text separated by comma such like “word,excel,PowerPoint,access” into “access,PowerPoint,excel,word”.
  2. Select range of cells that you want to reverse their text, and then check Comma option.
  3. Then click Apply. You will see the result as shown in the below screenshot.

Reverse text separated by carriage return

  1. For example, reverse text separated by carriage return or new lines.
  2. Select range of cells that you want to reverse their text, and then check Carriage return option.
  3. Then click Apply. You will see the result as shown in the below screenshot.


Reverse text separated by any separator you specify

  1. For example, reverse text separated by anything you want such like “/” will turn “Dose/for/Excel” into “Excel/for/Dose”.
  2. Select range of cells that you want to reverse their text, and then check Specify option, then fill the text box with the separator you want.
  3. Then click Apply. You will see the result as shown in the below screenshot.
